Studios often get a lot of hate for telling directors to change stuff and interfere with their creative vision but in the case of this movie they absolutely saved it from this idiot. He absolutely hates the movie and complains the whole time that "the studio made me change this and they made me do that blah blah blah" and every single thing he said he would have done differently is terrible! The director's commentary on the DVD is very interesting. If you’re into bad, funny, campy, horror classics this is a movie for you. No shade to the original BWP tho.) Plus, it has a great metal soundtrack that I still own on CD. (Unfortunately the third film we did get 16 years later was trash. Definitely don’t think it deserves all the hate it gets, and I’m saddened that it killed a franchise that probably could have seen many funny direct to video sequels. You can enjoy this movie as both a comedy and an extremely bizarre horror at the same time. The drug use, the drinking, the ritualistic murder, the witchcraft, it’s just all amazing.
I would compare it to Sleepaway Camp 2 and Return of The Living Dead. Speaking of campy, this movie is the DEFINITION of camp.
The convoluted plot, the caricatures Of people they call characters, the references to the mythology of the original film just all contribute to this campy, fun ride this film is. The fashion, the music, it’s just everything and I live for it.
